While most of the companies we invest in are growing and profitable,
we will also consider investments in companies that do not have substantial
sales and earnings. We generally invest for our own account only. We
do not offer or sell securities to the public.
HEALTH CARE & LIFE SCIENCES
Oxbridge will invest in a broad range of health care segments including
biotechnology and life sciences, consumer health, generic drugs, health
care services, information technology, health insurance, medical devices,
specialty pharmaceuticals, point of care diagnostic test-makers, drug
firms, disease and disability management companies and retail health
clinics. We use our own equity to provide shareholder liquidity to
private companies, complete growth recapitalizations, fund growth capital,
lead management buy-outs and recapitalizations and finance corporate
spin-offs.
Investment Philosophy
We invest in growing health care companies with well defined business
models and the management leadership capable of sustaining long term
growth. We generally invest in companies with a track record of revenue
and profit growth. We are both investors and operators. We get actively
involved in the day-to-day operations of our portfolio companies and
we are active board members and advisors.
Industry Focus
Our Health Care Group focuses on biotechnology and life sciences, consumer
health, retail health clinics, generic drugs, health care services,
information technology, insurance, medical devices, medical services,
specialty pharmaceuticals and other growth areas in health care.
Investment Size
We will consider transactions requiring up to $25 million of committed
capital per transaction.
Investment Structure
We are generally the first investor in most transactions. We are almost
always the lead investor and often the sole investor. We typically
do not take minority positions. We structure investments that sustain
long-term growth, support financial stability, and maximize shareholder
value.
REAL ESTATE
Our Real Estate Investment Group will generally invest in medically
anchored commercial real estate, including commercial land development,
owner occupied structures, office buildings, and senior care and assisted
living properties.
Investment Philosophy
We invest in undervalued real assets that require significant repositioning
and have a strong potential to appreciate over the longer term. We
are long term investors who typically hold assets for 10 years or more.
Our transactions are characterized by rigorous due diligence, conservative
cash flow assumptions, and careful assessments of possible downside
scenarios. We aggressively manage the capital structure of our investments.
We generally avoid properties encumbered by factors that typically
reduce asset values, such as ground leases, preemptive rights, long-term
management contracts or other restrictions on ownership and control.
Industry Focus
Our focus is on properties that are related to health care delivery.
We will generally consider transactions in senior housing, land development
related to independent living, continuing care or retirement communities,
assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals,
long-term care and acute care hospitals, medical office buildings and
owner occupied structures.
Investment Size
We will consider investments requiring up to $50 million in committed
capital per transaction.
Investment Structure
We will consider all viable investment structures, including joint
ventures and equity and debt syndications. We are able to source and
execute unique and complex transactions, including direct equity investments
in real property, debt investments secured by real estate, privately
placed real estate securities, syndications and joint ventures with,
or outright acquisitions of, real-estate operating or investment companies.
